Dr. Robert Huculak joined the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) as a Research in October 2008 and is currently a research scientist in the Crash Dynamics Lab. In his time there, Dr. Huculak has worked with multiple domestic and international clients to complete hundreds of testing programs and thousands of experimental dynamic impact tests in various areas of crashworthiness for both civilian and military applications. The test programs include, but are not limited to, aircraft seat development and certification, FMVSS 213 testing, and research projects funded by various US Federal Agencies and private companies. Dr. Huculak has specialized in utilizing accelerometers and angular rate sensors to evaluate ATD kinematics during impacts tests and has performed various research projects on ATD injury criteria.
